After graduation I was ready to get college over with, get married, and have kids by the time I was 22! Well, like some of you I ended up majoring in beer and parties! After 4 years at CCC my parents gave me an ultimatum - either go to school (full time and seriously)or move out and begin experiencing "real" life. That didn't sound like a lot of fun (real life) so I got serious about college, moved to Pittsburg and finished up my BS in Elementary Education in '94. In the meantime I met my husband Doug and we were married the summer of 94. I began teaching for Independence USD 446 that same year and have been there ever since. I love it! I have taught 1st grade, Reading Recovery, and 2nd grade for the past 5 years. I also went back to school and received my MS in Elementary Ed. in 2002.
After a year of marriage we decided a child was the next step. Mother Nature was not kind to us (me)but through the help of modern medicine and 3 years of trying Zoe was born! She is an absolute joy! She is beautiful, kind, funny, smart (too smart), talented, etc... Can't believe she's 9 already!
We built a home in 2001 and live out in country. Actually just down the road from Stacy Bishop's childhood home. We love it! Nice and quiet.
That's pretty much it. :-)
