Fall '89 I left for Wichita, KS to attend Wichita State University on a Bowling Scholarship. I lived in Wichita for 12 years, most of that time I worked for the university, first as a student assistant in the Aerospace Engineering Department, then as the head secretary of that department, and finally as the Assistant to the Director of the Wind Tunnels. I enjoyed working in both departments, but the wind tunnel job was absolutely fascinating and it allowed me to travel to different parts of the country and also to Japan. I moved back to Colorado in June 2001. Since returning, I have had to have both hips replaced and then, in between hip replacements, I had a baby. Jake was 8 weeks premature and weighed 2lbs., 2oz. We (well, he) spent nearly 6 weeks in NICU at Memorial Hospital. Fortunately, he is now a wonderfully healthy and a typically active boy whom I completely adore!
In 2011, we moved to Seattle, WA in order to get my grandmother out of the altitude and off of oxygen, and also for her to be near her sister and brothers and all the family that that entails for the last years of her life. Sadly, we lost my grandma in Feb. of 2021 at the great age of 96! (She was the oldest of her siblings and outlived her 3 brothers!) We sold the Vape/Tobacco Shops and our latest endeavor is jigsaw puzzles! Our new company is called Artist Puzzles and we make/sell puzzles of original works of art created by artists from around the world -- very cool!!
