Last time I saw Marlyn was at First Baptist Church Columbia.  He was helping take up offering.  He had become real regular in his attendance and helping with the offering.  WE talked about our football days.  If we could have weighed then as much as we do no now, we would have been great. I won't tell you our weights.I was glad to see him take such a big interest in the church.  I never saw him much after that. I guess I should have checked on him.  You know his father and mine played football together  at CHS. Gary Wilson and Tommy Mcdaniel's dads were on the same team. Marlyn is in a better place now. He was a good friend an just a good ole boy.  Steven Warren

Marlyn was smallest lineman on the tea. He just might have been the smallest player in the conference playing cente, but surely one of great spirit. I echo all that has been said about him. A great friend.

It was so sad to hear the news about Marlyn. He had called to chat just a few months ago and sounded so good. "Coal Oil" was always so happy and upbeat and had so much charisma. He leaves behind a big circle of friends and I am grateful that I was one of those. We have many sports, school, and outdoors memories.
