Carrie Fortna Wright

I hung around for a while after graduating working and not knowing what I really wanted to do. When I was 20 I moved to San Pedro CA to live with my brother and his family still not sure what I wanted to do. My brother was in the Air Force and I figured "why not?". After a few months I got engaged to my now husband of 16 years and I joined the Air Force. My first assignment was in Utah and after about 10 months my fiance joined me. We got married shortly thereafter and bought a house. We've been to several assignments since then--Germany, Idaho and now Sacramento. We've traveled all over and seen so much, it's really been a blessing. Our son was born while we were stationed in Germany. I have 3 years left until I retire and I'm looking forward to it! We are looking to get orders out of California soon--we hope. I'm still not sure what my next career is going to be but I know that joining the Air Force was the best thing I could've done.

Although I didn't graduate from Colusa High School I always felt closer to my friends there than any other school. I still keep in touch with several today. I have so many memories I look back on and laugh about.
