Mark Turner

After spending two years teaching English in Japan, I've developed some talent in Japanese Cooking (especially stuff you don't typically see in Sushi joints around America); I look forward to opening an "izakaya" some day.

Since, I am dealing with the written word so much during the school year, I taught myself how to oil paint about 9 years ago and enjoy dabbling on the canvas during the summer months. The past couple of years I've started fishing more and discovering all of the waterways of the Upper Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge.

I still like to play hoops whenever possible--although I still can't dunk. I hangout with my family alot on weekends doing some hiking and camping during the summer.

Too many to tell here. You'll have to catch me at the reunion. Besides, most are not web-friendly stories anyhow.

Ms. Young and Kotsovos will always stand out as teachers I've remembered and borrowed from.

The Younglife trips definitely had their fair share of Shenanigans, and who could forget Woodleaf?

Served in Desert Shield/Storm/Sword with the Marine Corps.
Earned a Master Degree in English.
Lived with my family in Kyoto, Japan for 2 years.
Climbed Mt. Hood in 2008.
Been teaching English/Writing to college and high school students for 10+ years.
