It seems like the older we get, there is less to tell, or you want to tell. After H.S.I went to Del Mar like many of you. Went on and graduated from UT Austin, and while there I also married my HS sweetheart Christine James (Ray class of '61). I worked for a year after college, than I got drafted. Being a college graduate, I was guaranteed to go to Officer Candidate School, which I did. I was in the Army Chemical Corps for 25 years, then worked as a Defense Contractor for another 15 years, ending my work career in Virginia. While there, I became sort of a chemical weapons expert, and taught chemical weapons terrorist threat to First Responder Units.

So after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, I finally came back to the promise land. Now in the San Antonio area, residing in the Army Residence Community, a retirement community exclusively for retired military officers. Nice lifestyle; I wake up every morning and have no chores. It's like living on a cruise ship, but we just don't go anywhere. To keep busy, however, I do woodworking in my shop, which started out as Chris' garage. Also I'm full time (volunteer) Disaster Relief with Texas Baptist Men. I'm mostly a chainsaw guy and I oversee 21 chainsaw units around the state. While we haven't had a hurricane since Ike in 2008, there are increasing numbers of storms every year. 2015-2016 have been our busiest seasons yet. Responding to the needs of families who have often been decimated is rewarding experience; our reward is a friendly smile, and perhaps a hug. It keeps you going. All of us love what we do, and it sure does keep us busy. Life is great, isn't it?

Hey Gayle. Good to see your picture. I also see your spouse died the same year as mine (Christine James--class of '61). That was some rough few months going through that. I'm now living in San Antonio, not far from you. If you ever get down to the big city, give me a holler.

Happy birthday Salisbury. I’m sure you are happy every day living in WV. You live in a beautiful part of the country. A lot of my military career was in the east, lastly in the DC area. When I finallyI retired-retired I came back to the promise land. Besides, being a lifelong Cowboy fan it wasn’t fun being in Redskins area for so long. Love it here, as I know you love it there. Enjoy, and stay safe.
