Dalhart was a great place to be from. Everything I have learned about narrow minded thinking & ignorance came form there. Leaving Dalhart was the #1 accomplishment of my life.
Lubbock was my next stop shortly after graduation. The larger city suited me well. After joining the workforce new friends & lifetime professorial contacts were made. A year of 60 hour weeks I landed in Amarillo for 6 months, This was my "coming out".
I was asked by my company to relocate to Columbia, SC. At 19 years old an all expense paid move to South Carolina sounded like just what I needed, even though hurricane Hugo had just landed. On arrival to the palmetto state the devastation pained my heart. I promptly made lots of new friends.
After 2 years in Columbia I had the opportunity to move to Charleston, SC. (Shout out to David Clark, he is a narc there now) If you have never been to Charleston, book the trip now. Charleston was a 5 year whirl wind! Food, beach, golf, history, surfing, life long friends, pain & loss.
With Virginia Beach as my next stop, life was looking great! One year in a place like this is all a young man can handle. I'll leave it at that.
After Va Beach, Atlanta has become my home. In 2000 I finally found what I was searching for my entire adult life, or maybe it found me. Kimmy! I am lucky enough to call the best friend I have ever had in my life, my wife.
We were married in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on August 27, 2003. We are currently "Living The dream" in Georgia. She is the free spirit that one can only dream of.
