I recall in elementary school, we were giving speeches. We were assigned to write about things we did over the summer. When Brenda came up to give her speech, she shared the most amazing and loving [testimony and revelation], that brings joy and tears to me to this day (for her courage and strength and desire to share her joy). Through tears and smiling she shared how that she experienced the joy and fear of having had twins and how that no one would ever know how glad she was for having made the decision to keep and have her beautiful sons. She was a wonderful person in life who would, no doubt, want to share that love overcomes all fears, all obstacles.

What I remember most about Brenda was not from High School but post High School. My children attended Dunbar High School and she was at almost every basketball game --very instrumental in the school system at Dunbar. I also remember her very sweet daughter, Grace who attended school with my children.

I wish I had a copy of the write-up about Brenda from the News Paper -- she touched many lives.

During our high school years and during the early part of our post high school years, Brenda, myself and a group of other wonderful women spent alot of time together having a ball. Brenda's humor, sarcasm and crazy spirit were such a blessing to my life. She was truly a good, no great friend to me and it hurt me so bad when I heard of her passing. It seemed that God blessed me with the opportunity to see her just weeks before her death. She was able to meet and laugh with my children as I had done with hers years prior. As we always do, we say that we are going to keep in touch and this time we did. I feel so blessed! She was supposed to come to my wedding ceremony, but died before it happened. I was so looking forward to seeing her there, laughing and hopefully rekindling that strong bond of "sister girlfriend" we had.
I miss her. I love her as I always have and I am so grateful to have had such a great friend like Brenda in this lifetime.

One of my memories of Brenda (along with Michelle McKnight), is riding with her to and from school on tne #8 bus. (For all those who rode with us on the Lakeview/Germantown/Nicholas Road line, throw your hands up!!! :). We had many-a-laugh in and out of school, and at the football/basketball games!

The last time I saw Brenda, she had just completed her education at Sinclair and was beaming! We stopped on the sidewalk and started talking, and naturally, one of our topics was, "When are we gonna have a reunion?."

On another occasion, since PCHS, we sang in a community choir together, along with her daughter who is the spitting image of Brenda.

I know she would have been all excited about this reunion, and would have likely been on the reunion committee.

Miss ya' Bren.
