Food/Beverage Survey

The Warren Woods Inn features a full size kitchen for our convenience. But in an effort to eliminate each family's need to go to the grocery store as well as manage the limited refrigerator/freezer space and provide some basic house items that are not provided with the house, we are recommending an "Essentials Plan" be offered.

Listed below are an example of the items that would be part of this service.

HOW IT WOULD WORK:  I would have a survey on the website allowing each family to note their dietary or brand preferences (whole milk, skim milk, organic milk, coke vs. pepsi, etc...) as well as other food suggestions. Then the day before the trip I would do the shopping in the Detroit area.  I would keep all the receipts then divide it equally by the number of adults (just like Aunt Mary did for the room fees). I'm guessing we can get this done for $25 per adult for the week.

DINNERS:

The next item for consideration is how people would like to handle dinner. As you probably have already read on the website, we will be having one special family dinner the night  of the group photograph (Thurs). This leaves 4 other nights for dinner (as Friday will be an open night since people will start departing on Friday). So we can:

  • Do nothing. Let everyone fend for themselves and naturally figure it out.

  • Assign each clan (Currier clan, Mateja/Gulash clans, Peggs clan, Murphy clan) a night to prepare dinner for everyone that will be there that evening. The clan would then pay for that dinner. The dinner could be as simple or complex as the clan would want (hamburgers/hot dogs, spaghetti, pork tenderloin on grill, whatever...).

  • Add one more planned family dinner to the calendar to be coordinated by Julie and to be added to the Essentials Plan receipts. (I would decide menu based on families input, then ask individuals for help with specific parts of the meal - ie. ask Brian or Bobby to grill meat, ask Catherine to make salad, etc...)

1)   Do you and your family want an Essentials plan?

Yes, I want the Essentials Plan for approx. $25 per adult for the entire week
No, each family should take care of their own food and house needs

2)   I prefer dinners be handled in following manner

Do nothing. Let everyone figure it out themselves
Assign clans a night to make dinner for all and have each clan pay for their night
Add one more coordinated family dinner and add it to the Essential Plan receipts
  Other idea
