ARRIVING BY CAR

From the Detroit area (approx. 3.5 hours):

  • Take I-94 west to Exit 6B/Union Pier Road.
  • Turn left (west) on to Union Pier Road.
  • Proceed approx. 1.5 miles to Red Arrow Highway.
  • Turn right (north) on Red Arrow Highway. Proceed approx. 1 mile.
  • Warren Woods Inn will be on your left.

From the Chicago O'Hare Airport (approx. 2 hrs):

  • Depart airport on I-190 east. Proceed 3.8 miles to I-90 east merge.
  • Merge onto I-90 east. Proceed east on I-90 for 16.4 miles.
  • Keep left to take the Dan Ryan Express Lane (aka I-90 East Express or I-94 East Express Lane). Proceed 3.9 miles to the I-90/Skyway/Indiana Toll Road.
  • Merge onto I-90 E/Skyway/Indiana Toll Road. Tolls apply (approx. $3 total). Proceed 29 miles to Exit 21/I-94 East.
  • Merge onto I-94 East via Exit 21 and proceed 35 miles to Exit 4B.
  • Take Exit 4B/West Pulaski Highway/US-12. Proceed approx. 1.1 miles to Red Arrow Highway.
  • Turn right (north) on Red Arrow Highway. Proceed 3.4 miles.
  • Warren Woods Inn will be the left.

 

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

The Amtrak station closest to Warren Woods Inn is the New Buffalo, MI station (NBU). It is approximately 5 miles south of the Inn and a family member could pick you up.

From Chicago O'Hare:

Take the Blue Line CTA train from the airport to Clinton Station. Fare $2.25. Walk 2 blocks north to Amtrak's Union Station. There are 3 trains a day from Chicago Union Station to New Buffalo, MI (7:30am, 4:10pm, 6:00pm). The Amtrak train ride from Chicago to New Buffalo is 1 hr 20 mins and costs $9 each way.

There are also 3 daily trains from New Buffalo, MI to Chicago Union Station (11:34am, 3:43pm, 10:25pm).

From the Detroit Area:

There are 2 Amtrak departures a day from the Dearborn station to the New Buffalo station (11:50am, 6:40pm) picking up the Ann Arbor passengers at 12:29pm and 7:17pm. The trip from Dearborn is 4 hours and costs $28 each way. From Ann Arbor the trip takes 3 hours 15 mins and costs $26 each way.

There are 2 return trains from New Buffalo to Ann Arbor/Dearborn each day departing at 9:49am and 8:16pm. They arrive Ann Arbor at 1:04pm and 11:32pm and arrive Dearborn at 1:43pm and 11:59pm.
