Registration Table at The Welcome Center
We want to extend a very special thank you to all those that were able to attend this reunion. Our intent was to give you all ample opportunity to visit with our friends from a half century ago and longer. I think we succeeded. With this being the largest turnout for any of our past reunions, we saw immediately that conversation time needed to be at the top of the list of offerings; all 3 days was filled with chatter and laughter… everywhere you looked.
For the festivities beginning Friday at The Welcome Center, we shared time with 108 classmates, spouses, friends, and guests. The hog roast and all the prepared food was like “manna from heaven”. The weather was comfortable and lent well to simply sitting under the tent or in the gardens and visiting.
Saturday had a few good men show up at the golf course for 18 holes of fierce competition. A few drops of rain may have slowed the traffic but not the warriors of the grass.
A group very happily enjoyed a tour of the old Skylark Club downtown, with much to their amazement how accurately it was detailed.
The Class Banquet Saturday evening boasted 135 in attendance. This is BY FAR, the best turnout for a class reunion yet. It speaks clearly how much we think of our friends and the value of maintaining those friendships. The tribute to our lost classmates was carefully thought out with the emphasis placed on how much they are missed.
Kristin Wendell and her Group entertained with songs and quips from our school years. The 50/50 drawing was won by Bernard Wisda and many gifts were given away with the same drawing.
Sunday morning brought more eating and visiting to The Welcome Center as we enjoyed sausage, pancakes, eggs, coffee and laughs………….
It is our intent to keep this website up as long as it has interest. We were able to gather enough funding through your generous gifts to pay these expenses. We obviously want to leave enough funds for the next committee to begin their operations and any surplus will be dispersed of in the form of donations in the classes’ name.
I have a complete section left on this site for this year’s pictures. Please feel free to send me your files for upload to the site. (I only need the files, I don't need the picture itself.) This part takes me a while, so bare with me…..
