Dear Classmates 10/17/11

At a Class committee meeting last night it was decided to have a class 70th birthday party in September of 2012. It would be a nice get together. It would be pot luck with brat's and hambugers. Location U.A.W. Annex (Former Toledo Edison Club House) All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend. Final date and time will be announced later.

For comments send E-mails to Judy Stykemain Jim Warncke or Jon Roesti

With the reunion over and considered to be a success, we would like to thank everyone again for contributing to that success and encourage you all to stay in touch with those people you laughed and visited with. We are continuing the website for your use. To contact any registered classmates, simply click on that persons profile name and send a message from the white box at the bottom of the page. (don’t forget the “subject” box). We cannot release any e-mail addresses but e-mail information can be traded confidentially using that message box on their profile page; only the two people messaging can see those messages.

We are opening this top area of the front page for anyone to make any announcements they want, or share whatever. Just send what you would like to post to me,   jawarncke@roadrunner.com   and I will post it for you. You guys contributed to this site, please use it…
Once again, thank you all for making our reunion a very nice time.
Jim

I have created another section on the left called "News from Classmates".  This will be where all your notes you would like to share will be.  All future news will go there as well.
It would be very nice if some of you would send us some news.  Certainly your lives aren't THAT boring.....

Send to jawarncke@roadrunner.com for posting.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 50thClass Reunion deemed success.

Registration Table at The Welcome Center

We want to extend a very special thank you to all those that were able to attend this reunion. Our intent was to give you all ample opportunity to visit with our friends from a half century ago and longer. I think we succeeded. With this being the largest turnout for any of our past reunions, we saw immediately that conversation time needed to be at the top of the list of offerings; all 3 days was filled with chatter and laughter… everywhere you looked.

For the festivities beginning Friday at The Welcome Center, we shared time with 108 classmates, spouses, friends, and guests. The hog roast and all the prepared food was like “manna from heaven”. The weather was comfortable and lent well to simply sitting under the tent or in the gardens and visiting.

Saturday had a few good men show up at the golf course for 18 holes of fierce competition. A few drops of rain may have slowed the traffic but not the warriors of the grass.

A group very happily enjoyed a tour of the old Skylark Club downtown, with much to their amazement how accurately it was detailed.

The Class Banquet Saturday evening boasted 135 in attendance. This is BY FAR, the best turnout for a class reunion yet. It speaks clearly how much we think of our friends and the value of maintaining those friendships. The tribute to our lost classmates was carefully thought out with the emphasis placed on how much they are missed.

Kristin Wendell and her Group entertained with songs and quips from our school years. The 50/50 drawing was won by Bernard Wisda and many gifts were given away with the same drawing.

Sunday morning brought more eating and visiting to The Welcome Center as we enjoyed sausage, pancakes, eggs, coffee and laughs………….

It is our intent to keep this website up as long as it has interest. We were able to gather enough funding through your generous gifts to pay these expenses. We obviously want to leave enough funds for the next committee to begin their operations and any surplus will be dispersed of in the form of donations in the classes’ name.

I have a complete section left on this site for this year’s pictures.  Please feel free to send me your files for upload to the site. (I only need the files, I don't need the picture itself.)  This part takes me a while, so bare with me…..

Mail picture files to jawarncke@roadrunner.com We will add captions and identifications to the pictures in the near future.

For those that was not able to attend, please continue to use this site to contact your friends and share your life’s experiences; this is what it’s for.....

Once again, a huge thank you for making us happy we could make you happy…

Jim Warncke and your committee friends,

SEND ME THOSE PICTURE FILES!!!
