It sure didn't feel like 30 years could have gone by...that is until I started thinking about all that has happened since 1978! So here goes...

I graduated in 1982 from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. In 1985, I married my college sweetheart Drew and settled in his hometown of Rochester, NY where he was attending medical school and I worked in accounting. In 1987, we moved to Flemington, NJ for Drew's residency. I again worked in accounting(in your town of Califon, Cheryl!) until moving back to Rochester in 1990. My past work experience in accounting proved helpful as I became the office manager of Drew's private practice.

I thought that we would live in Rochester forever and I even had visions of my sons graduating from their dad's high school alma mater ...but Drew and I never could pass up an adventure. In 2000, we headed west, moving to the small mountain town of Eagle, Colorado, about 45 minutes from Vail. (I know that this will sound sacrilegious, but I don't really ski.) We are loving life in God's country.

Since moving to Colorado, I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. I recieved my Colorado teaching license and currently teach Art (Kindergarten through 8th grade) as well as Kindergarten math and language arts. (Kindergarten sure is different now than it was back in the 60's!)

This school year I did take the first 7 months off, however. On September 7, 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and on March 27th I officially completed my course of chemotherapy and radiation. I am excited to report that my hair is growing back nicely and that my family and I are looking forward to life getting back to "normal".

Hope to see you all in the fall!

School Story:

Memories...

Celebrating my 18th birthday with JoAnn, Marcia and Marlene at lunch in the school cafeteria...where she poured me a glass of wine...my first legal drink!

Running rat sprints in b-ball practice (my son's generation calls them "suicides", a much more accurate name!)

Attending all those MC sporting events...the class of '78 had SPIRIT!!

Learning religion in Mr. Piro's class and then recognizing him years later in an interview on MTV as the Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club President! (He is even on Wikipedia.)

Playing with mercury as part of Chemistry class (Can you imagine your kids doing that today?)

Fetal pigs...it's a smell you never forget!

Yes, the day John Byrne lost his teeth will live in infamy!
