Ernest "Ernie" Brown

Ernie Brown, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2016.  He was born in Des Moines on March 14, 1945, to Lillian Schaffer Brown and J.D. Brown.

Ernie attended Dowling High School and Loras College. He worked as a journeyman lineman for many years and more recently drove his Taxi, making many friends.

Ernie is survived by his wife Mary (Prather) Brown and her children Cindy and Christopher Boyce as well as his sister Jean Brown and nephews:  Sam, Chas. Jacob, Barney, Ernie and Luke Johnson and nieces Anne Catron, Sara Winters and Maggie Levasseur.  Ernie was preceded in death by his parents.

The Cremation Society of Iowa assisted the family with a simple cremation. No service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
