I basically knew Tom through my brother, Jim Tavarozzi -- class of 1959.  Tom grew up knowing Italian cooking...well enough to open a restaurant in Ypsilanti, MI, named the Spaghetti Bender. He also did catering, and produced a cooking brochure, which he had distributed to related type businesses.  And, I'll always remember his fine gesture of hiring my daughter for his restaurant.  It helped her with her expenses at EMU.  I liked being around Tom a lot.  He was a fun guy, thoughtful, kind, and good person!  Although he has been dead for several years already, I still think of him, and am grateful that I had the chance to know him.

Tom was our back-up quarterback when I played. For what ever reason he was sent into the huddle during a game with Cass Tech. He said," pass to charlie". I grabbed him and said "Tom, we've got 30 plays...which one?

He told me..we hooked up..and got a first down. A real sweet guy.

I believe he was married to Cathy Geddes.  Tom and Cathy seem to have died the same time. They were so young.
