After Rhodes College, I met John working for missions. Our passion led us to Sierra Madre, the wintering place of the Monarchs (a near threatened species). Butterflies carpeted the forest! Still one of the most poignant moments of our lives.

At home, in Greenwich, CT, we opened a gourmet food bar & catered for parties including some interesting personalities, e.g., former Pres. Gge. Bush, Sr., Ron Howard and the Prince of Lichtenstein. Our lives have switched now dramatically to the quiet, as we've moved to the country and take care of nutrition for a well-loved nursing home. Perhaps in prep for our futures?!:0)

The oldest book I've held in my hands came from the 1500's, which is still amazing to me. I also see books of an odd nature, such as on special art & engineering topics, lesser known histories, signed copies-- a hodgepodge of information. (to be continued.....)

I remember, not just 4, but 12 yrs together:
*Bobby Ray Burgess taught an imp life's principle way back at Oakmont playground: When asked why his frds didn't like/wouldn't play w/me, he smiled & answered. "We like you! We just thought you didn't like us!" Bobby are you still that way?
*Variety was the spice of life when Dickson Co. schools embraced several xchange students, incl Jana Svoboda who escaped from Czechoslovakia; the Persian princess, Asaal Saghri; and the son of a Baptist minister from Gotteborg, Sweden, Michael Hedman, who shocked our culture by sporting the first men's bikini to H.S. swim class!
*The Music Man production.
*Band Camp and Ex-Lax. Need I say more?
*And I remember the Cougar Spirit mainly as when black and white football players danced in unison onto the field. And when it was never a question whether or not we would pray before things got started.
