I've pretty much never quit going to school. I attended UTK and APSU for my BS in education. I've taught school for 17 years now, and have a masters from Cumberland University.
My first teaching job was at a juvenile detention center and I loved it! I knew it was going to be different when the first two weeks on the job was spent teaching me how to restrain kids who were trying to injure me or their peers. After that I taught alternative school for two years, then decided it would be nice to just have non-dangerous kids for a change. I've been in regular classrooms ever since.
Personally, I met my husband at a Parent teacher conference and started dating him 5 years later. Since we were both out of the dating scene for several years, we went extremely slow! Dated for 3 years before finally getting married.
My daughter, Alex, is me made over which I think is hilarious since my mother always told me she "hoped I had a girl just like me." She is my pride and joy. Plays tennis and volleyball and is a straight A student. I only had one child for two reasons. 1- I'm not into near death experiences. 2- I know many people who swear if they had their second child first they would never have had another one!
I'm totally addicted to coffee and chocolate. Now I've confessed so be sure and spread it around.
