Michael works for Great Lakes Automations as the electrician wiring new & used machinary the last 5 yrs. He still works but is on dialysis with kidney failure. He is on the transplant list. 2 children do not match but in the process of getting an exchange kidney. 3 others cannot donate. 2 brothers & father are in process of trying to donate a kidney.
I have worked various jobs fast food, shoe store, bus driver, office work. I have helped as a parent booster with NW marching band, cross country, track, Little League, volley ball teams. We have sent 2 kids to Disney with the marching band, other school trips, Peter went to Australia on the PA cross country team to compete in the Down Under games. He went to Mexico for a church missions trip. We have been busy with many activities over the years. We have many stories such as the 10 yr old german shepherd attack, trailer fire, head on GM bus collision & Melanie on front page of the Times, getting bit by a bat, being stuck in a severe thunderstorm at the top of Waldameer ferris wheel for 45 min or so, the owl attack, our 12 yr old hit by a truck, car fire etc. It hasn't been boring. I have given Michael several challenges over the yrs with bringing home deer hit by the car & put in trunk. Bringing home a snapping turtle so it didn't get hit by a car but so angry how do you get the large animal out of the trunk? He managed to get it out & turn it loose back into its swamp. We rescued a blue heron & turned it back into the wild. All the little bunnies & baby birds the kids brought to us to nurse or bury. Life has been more than we ever dreamed.

School Story:

I remember being the new kid on the block, talking with the MO accent & being so sad that I left all my classmates in the Willard school district. I made some life long friends at GM. I see some as our paths cross at Walmart, the Albion fair or working with others.
There were the new girls' sports teams with volleyball, track, basketball, softball, drill team etc. Going from wearing only dresses to wearing jeans. Lot of firsts.
