passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1st 2014 in Corning, NY with family by his side. He was born August, 11th 1951 to the late Edward and Mary Gantert. Known by his friends and family as Bill, he is survived by his loving daughter Amanda Gantert; her mother and his best friend Chris Witzel; his loving caretaker Sophie DiCinti; his dearest and most devoted sister Judy Eberle; sister Linn (Joe) Smith; brother Dick (Daisy) Gantert along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was a graduate of Southside High School and worked for many years in food service for Empire Foods and Sysco in addition to working with Bobby K Entertainment and retiring from I.D. Booth. In accordance with Bill’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 6th at 12:30 pm. in St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira “And when it’s time for leaving, I hope you understand; that I was born a ramblin’ man.”
