It was hard for me for a few months after I dropped out of High School during my Junior year, my faith in God was the only thing left. But things changed for me when I visited Iakopo and Tauapai at the University of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1979 during the X-mas vacation. They encouraged me, to take the GED . Six months later, I received my GED. On Jan 18, 1980, I received my Low School Diploma, not a High School Diploma. That was the beginning to changed things in my life. I enrolled in the same University with Iakopo and Tauapai, but I wasn’t sure about my major. I really wanted to take some kind of a mechanic type of field, something to do with engines or machineries, but the school did not offer that . I decided to test my gut, and work in the biology field. My brother Falagi was working in a program called Minority Biology Study (MBS), so I went with Falagi, when he goes to the lab, to do experiments . My brother taught me how to do a lot of neat stuff in the lab, including dissecting of rats and mixing different solutions. Falagi left for his ROTC training, and the University was looking for someone to continue the program. I had this crazy idea in my head that I should apply for it. And I did and the University was crazy enough to hired me for the job. The whole thing was crazy but I had a lot of fun with it. I left the University of Albuquerque and enrolled at the Long Beach City College for a semester. After that, I moved to Texas to live with my brother Epa. Ya'll’s favorite teacher in Fagaitua ,but not me. I love him as a bro, but not as a teacher,. Ya'll should remembered Epa and his “KAPISI VAI”. I tried the college thing again at Central Texas College, Killeen, Tx. I landed a job with Westinghouse, working on the electronic system for the Military Star War program during President Reagan. My friends, it wasn’t luck it was all God’s doing. God has blessed me with so much in many ways. I can not thank him enough. Westinghouse allowed me to work at night , and go to a Tech School during the day. I completed a 2 year degree in BioMedical Technology/ Fiber Optic System. With that degree, God has installed a confidence in me ,to walk in any doors applied for a job, work for NASA/Barker Atlas/Hewlett-Packard. It was an honored for me to work at NASA. I left NASA and worked for an oil Company, Barker Atlas. Now, I’m with Hewlett-Packard. Don’t be shocked , it was all God’s plan. I'm just playing the hand that was delt to me. It's not a funny story , But it was impressive thing to observed, It was Fa'anene and his daughter taking care his wife or mother. Everyday She with them at the school.It was . And our Vice prince" Trevor, his favorite words, You know what I mean, Just in case, you know as you know.But now ,we are in the United State, I am hearing those words ,every time, because of th ebonic language we are in today, I thought the Hawaiian English was bad, Eee bra ,me no like the kind, you no the kind, bumb by the kind. But it is ,what it is. They are just my thoughts.
