Vicki and I were married in October 1992. We both
are in Law Enforcement and work for the largest agency in Kansas, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. We both have been promoted through the ranks and we hold the rank of Captain. Vicki has been with the Sheriff's Office for 20 years and is currently the commander of Sheriff's Office Communication Division which services 8 of the 17 cities within the county. She just recently moved her division into a new County Communications Center which is state of the art and will be a model for other communication centers across the United States. I have been with the Sheriff's Office for 24 years. I have recently been reassigned from our Detention Bureau to our Special Services Bureau which I command the Personnel Division, Records Division, Property & Evidence, and our Fleet Services. Needless to say we are both very busy with our assignments.
Along with work, our children keep us extremely busy. Rick is a journeyman electrician and doing very well for himself. He and his girlfriend recently purchased a home in Edgerton, Kansas which is approximately 10 miles from where we live. Kelsey is a junior at the University of Kansas, where she is majoring in bio-chemistry. She has aspirations to become a doctor in the field of pediatrics. Ericka is a sophomore in high school and she is the athlete in the family. She is actively involved in volleyball and basketball. Her game is basketball and hopefully her play will obtain her some looks from some college coaches to assist her parents in paying for college! During the summer we do a lot of traveling since Ericka is on a competitive basketball team. We fostered Trey and Emie beginning in 2001 and then adopted them in 2004, (starting all over). Trey is now in the 3rd grade and Emie is in the 2nd grade. They both play sports with Ericka and I coaching. As you would probably guess with their sister coaching their primary sport is basketball. However, Trey played his first year in tackle football which was very entertaining.
