Never graduated -ended up getting my GED and went on with life from there!!!
I have worked in an educational setting for the past 19 years with a focus on Multicultural Education for all students. I serve on the State Board for the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) for the past 6 years. I also am a Certified Level 2 in Braille Instructor, Certified Parent Educator, Supervisor Level through National Parents as Teachers Organization, Director for Greater Hartford Even Start - a Family Literacy Program, Director for the Extended Day Program, and Director for the Summer Program and the Title XI Coordinator at the University of Hartford Magnet School.
I have a regular practice of American Indian sacred ceremonies. I participate in a Women's Council group monthly on World Peace issues; I lead ceremonies for individualized blessings or meditations, and offers workshops in creating Sacred Drums and Sacred Rattles. While following my Native Traditions I bring the richness into my professional life as well. My fondest work has been through the Institute of American Indian Studies leading the Strawberry Festival and the Green Corn Festival and as a Research Associate, facilitator in workshops and Village Interpreter for the simulated village at the Institute in Washington Depot, CT.
Founder of Women In The Spirit
Committee member of The Wisdom Keepers Conference

School Story:

The "Hole" by the stairs
Sneaking into Farmington Drive-In!!!
Smacking Dave Oullette in the library, really he deserved it!!
Dodging Ms. Buckly
Mike Pinette trying to get me to go to Ms. Smith english class
Andrea Martin good times
Craig Smith, best buddy
Jeff Morris, smoking buddy
Valery Tomkins NUTS....CRAZY girl!!!!

Remembering how I really never felt like I could be successful in school. Always looking for a way out.
Life has shown me that school days although important really never matter in the scope of life. Its what you do after that truely matters.
