It's all just life - lots to do and always on the run with 4 kids, a full-time job, working on my 2nd Masters degree, a band, blah, blah...I'm blessed and grateful. But, if you REALLY want to know what's been going on since '88, you can look at my Facebook profile or my music history at myspace.com/tnrsax. BUT, why I'm here.....

I'm so happy to be reacquainting with all of you...I've missed you desperately. Moving away was the worst thing that ever happened to me, I'm sure. In fact, I carried my Festus Jr. High memory book around with me for two years at my new school until I started my senior year. And, I refused to allow myself to get close to anyone again; therefore, I had very few dear friendships and memories like those I had with so many of you!

I've kept in touch with Pollard, although not like a loyal friend should (forgive me, Bec! I miss you fiercely and always have!) I sang at her first wedding when she married that jerk (refusing to remember his name) and I visited her a lot when she was in college and when she had Chloe; and she came to my grandmother's funeral last year. She also came to Nashville to be a bridesmaid in my first wedding in '94 (and to think Keith Urban was also there and AVAILABLE then!) Bob and Connie drove her down here and they left like right after the wedding because she was so sick the whole time!
She called a week later with her diagnosis - she was pregnant with her firstborn, Chloe (she's still as beautiful as she was as a baby, Becky!)

I also had a great time hanging with many of you when I came back for your graduation and we had that party in my hotel room....I could go on and on, as I'm sure many of you can..or ARE as I see it lately!

Oh yeah...one more thing you should know...

I'm a MAJOR packrat - never threw away a love note, photo, roster, cheerleading cheer list, or recital bulletin (I think I have the one that accompanied that choir concert photo Pacino posted!). Yep, I have 'em all...(except my Jr. High jacket got consumed in a flooded basement a few years ago and had to go to the dump!) Any way, I'll get started scanning and helping to prepare and submit my preserved keepsakes for our 30 year reunion!

Hugs to all and can't wait to see you! BTW, some of you have been asking about my sister...she has a facebook profile under 'Rebecca Wood Cross' and lives in Chicago with husband and 3 babies (all under 4). She'd love to hear from you...just be sure you address her as 'Becca' (she hates to be called 'Becky')

School Story

Hmmm...a funny memory? It may have been 'cheerleader-specific' but there was a girl (I can't remember her name - Graff, help me out here!) who hadn't shaved under her arms for like MONTHS. We all took turns 'evaluating' each other's moves so we could each see what we were snickering about when she raised her arms. In a smash n trash discussion (which we did to keep up the morale) a few weeks later, we addressed our 'concerns' with her and she just started laughing. We thought we were helping her...but she claimed it was a contest between her and some other girls to see who could grow their armpit hair the longest...EEWWW!!!

I also have fond memories of our 'boyz' - break dancing on the lower level circle under the Jr. High spit hole, doing back spins, etc. - I also remember the jukebox in the cafeteria (who would've thought?)

Don't know how many of you remember, but quite a few were involved...remember the jazz band I started in 6th grade, The Swing Machine? Players were Kate Francis, Pollard, Roger Barentine (sp?), Jeff Smith, Chris Whines, Ken Fluharty, David Wood, Chris Nall, Heath Thompson, Jill Botts, Jodi Lucas, Carla Williams and a guy from St. Pius played Bari, Kevin Hunt. We played a concert at Jefferson College and we were so pumped (thought we'd hit the big time! LOL) I still have the video and Linda Wegman tells the whole story on it of the band's inception and how the '2 Dad's Wood' (that's my Dad-Warren and David's Dad - my uncle Jerry who we lost to cancer last year) kept it all together, hauled everyone to and from practice, set up and tore down our gigs, etc. So, how many of YOU still have YOUR shirts? (yes, I do!) I'll try to post the video soon...it's in Dad's safe hands at the moment.

I also remember the Halloween party at Mrs. Hahn's log house in 5th grade; a slumber party at someone's house that forever put the fear of God in me to NEVER again watch "Carrie" (or any other horror movie for that matter!); all the slumber parties at Gina's and Tracy's and Jodi's - and one I remember at Lisa Overberg's (I was scared of her house...I think I called my mom to come and get me after we watched The Shining because I was so scared of that big old house!)

And last but not least, anyone remember that great party we had at my house after my family remodeled our basement and put in the jukeboxes, pinball machines and pool table? I have some awesome photos from that party I'll dig up and post here.

And, I also remember us all going to Sylvan Park somewhere around the city - South County maybe? All I remember is they had a 'wannabee rollercoaster' - this thing that went around in a circle but was higher at the back than in the front and would dip up and down as it went around in a circle (they have one of those at our county fair here called the 'Himalaya')...I don't really recall why we were there, but it must have been a field trip or something.

I'm sure I'll think of many more...these are just some of the memories I keep close to mind!
