I am blessed to have such a sweet little family and I take nothing for granted. Every day is a blessing from God!
This is pretty much my life: Originally from Florida, I moved to Alabama at 19 and at some point in college I fell in love with my best friend, and we've been laughing together ever since.
So I got married at 23 and have my very own UPS guy who comes home to me every night. As part of this "package deal" I have been blessed with two awesome stepchildren. Austin's 15 and too busy chasing girls to hang out with parents, and Sydney is 8 going on 18.
I have no kids of my own, and that's ok with me. I think babies are cute, but they usually begin to cry when I go near them so it may be best to avoid babies altogether.
I have a job that I actually enjoy. I get to promote beautiful Northwest Alabama and have a great time doing it. I love to take advantage of all this town has to offer and attend special events in the Florence area as often as time allows.
I enjoy spending time with my very photogenic chihuahuas, Lucy and Belle, who we refer to as "the girls." Our house is ruled by kids and dogs.
I love to cook and hate to clean. I drink Diet Cherry Coke and eat Reduced Fat Cheez-its and talk about fitness all the time...but that doesn't mean I am consistent with working out. I took up jogging for a while last year and really enjoyed that, so if anyone in Florence wants a really slow running buddy, let me know.
My nose is always buried in a book and if you've read anything good lately, please let me know! I love any type of mystery, and hate books about shopping.
In my freetime, I like going to football games with Bart, playing board games with the kids, cooking with Sydney, and hosting "family dance parties" in the back room in our pajamas. We are a family that loves to have fun, and likes to make messes.
We watch a lot of t.v., but our favorite shows are 24 (it's an addiction!!), Man vs. Wild, How I Met Your Mother (adults), The Office, and The Deadliest Catch to name a few.
My favorite movies are Braveheart, Elf, and Finding Nemo. I love any movie with computer animated talking animals.
Most of my family lives in Vero Beach, Florida (but my dad recently moved to Florence). I come from a large family of aunts and uncles and cousins and we are very close. I think that's why I love Bart's family so much--they are like mine, but less disfunctional! I feel right at home at family gatherings with little kids running around and a house full of noises! I love kids and enjoy watching cousins playing with one another.
I cannot begin to say enough kind words about Bart's parents. They have provided us with a living example of how a husband and wife are to treat one another, and there is nothing they would not do for their family. They are "the real deal" and have the biggest hearts of any two individuals I have ever known.
Like I said earlier, I feel blessed to have such a sweet family and it's a joy to be a stepmom to Sydney and Austin. They are great kids, and there is no way to measure the ways they have enriched my life in the past several years. I never imagined when I moved off to Alabama for college that I would not only end up staying in Florence, but marrying the UPS guy with two kids. But God's plans are bigger than mine, and this family is more than I ever imagined it would be.
We live at 425 Simpson, a house that we purchased from Bart's grandparents. We have spent a lot of time painting, caulking, and remodeling every room and if you haven't seen it in a while then stop by and see for yourself! We feel blessed to have such a wonderful home, knowing that it was first enjoyed by other people we love!
