Happy freakin' birthday! Break out the wine and chocolates and party on!
Love ya, Mary
So you just turned another year older. That would make it...what...67? Oh what the hell does a number mean, right? How are you feeling? What's amazing is that no matter how many years are on my chronological age, inside, i'm still 16. I think we all pick an age we like, and stay there. It's always a shock and an unpleasant surprise to me to see that old woman in the mirror or in photos. Surely, I don't REALLY look that old, do I? But yes, I do. But inside, I still want to run, hop down stairs, walk in mud puddles; the hell with falling hazards. So, on your birthday, I hope you feel young on the inside, no matter what damn lies that damn mirror is spreading. May God bless you with another year of grace and joy. Love, Mary
Happy Birthday, Diane! May the years be kind to you and filled with joy. Feliz Cumpleanos.
Mary
Hope life has been treating you well. I haven't gone too far afield, still live within 15 minute drive of HHS. No great accolades, just a life more or less well lived. Got 3 kids, 6 grandkids and I am involved with all of them. Two days a week working in parish office to make a bit of mad money. Still writing, hoping to cough up the great American literary novel. Perhaps a posthumous publication, eh?
Peace

Hey Bruce! Missed seeing you at the last reunion. I hung out with Jan Bettag, Jane Appling, Diane Desimone, and Tom Beil. It was good to see them again, but that was about all the folk I really talked to, except Steve Watts and Holly Hildebrandt and Sherri Maddox. Hate to watch us all getting older.
Take care,
Love
Mary

I was touched by your account of your last years with your husband. Being a full time care giver is both a blessing and a curse at the same time, I know. My mom lived with us for the last 8 years of her life. Have you ever considered writing about your experiece with your husband? It's a story that would bring comfort and guidance to many others out there. Look forward to seeing you at the reunion.
