OK I will try not to make this sound like a job resume. After high school I attended the University of Iowa where I drank way too much and occasionally went to class. I also met Elyce, my wife-to-be, who was primarily responsible for making sure I actually graduated (with a degree in Psychology.) She got a job in Tennessee and I tagged along, eventually attending Middle Tennessee State University and earning my MA in Clinical Psychology. I did a bunch of stuff including working at the Tennessee Prison for Women, several nursing homes, a home for the mentally retarded, and the DCS. When my son Lane was born I decided to be a stay-at-home dad and did the Mr. Mom thing until he went to school. For the last year and a half I have been in private practice doing individual and couples counseling.
Along the way I leaned to fence (with swords not barbed wire) and have been coaching the MTSU fencing club for 10+ years. I still compete but have to admit it is getting hard to keep up with the damn high-school kids. I also grew my hair out, learned to play the didgeridoo, and took up gardening. I have toned down the hippy/redneck look since going back to work but my dad (who passed away last fall) never stopped asking me if I needed ten bucks for a hair cut.
