YORK HAVEN Ronald Glenn Bartels, 47, died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday. He was the husband of Judy Nace Bartels. Born in Oil City, he was the son of Rev. Ralph and Aileen Bollman Bartels of York. Rev. Bartels was the pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Columbia from 1982 - 1988. Ron was retired on Social Security Disability. He was previously employed at R.R. Donnelly Printing Co. in Lancaster, Tires Plus in York and Lititz, Lancaster Malleable, and the Auto Department of BJ's in York, where he was an Inspection Mechanic. Ron was a caring, loving, and very compassionate individual. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Victoria Leigh Bartels of Philadelphia; a son, Christopher Bartels of Columbia; and a brother, Rick R. Bartels of Mountville. Funeral services will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, on Monday, May 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Skip Nizinski officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Ron's memory can be made to Colonial House, Inc. P.O. Box 2221 York, PA 17405.
