Life has been great. Following graduation from South Side in 1958 I started premedical school at Purdue University and then matriculated to the National College of Chiropractic in 1960, graduating from there in 1963 on an accelerated program. Next was radiology residency and Board Certification in Chiropractic Radiology was attained in 1970. I specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of back pain in clinical practice.
A blessing has been being married to Judi for 48 years and having four children and 6 grandchildren. Having good health is another blessing. Practicing chiropractic medicine since 1963 in Fort Wayne, IN and now my son is in clinical practice with me at our clinic called Cox Chiropractic Medicine, Inc. In my later years, I am involved in research in the diagnosis and treatment of back and extremity pain, participating in federally funded research projects at Loyola Medial School and Palmer College and National College of Chiropractic. These are National Instutues of Health funded projects and Health and Human Services studies. Never did I dream of doing such work when a teenager when such plans were not envisioned. It has been a reward to have invented and patented therapeutic treatment of back pain with corporate sponsorship of developing these ideas and materials.
One of my joys has been to care for some of our fellow graduates over my career. We talk of our high school days too.
In 1994 I cofounded the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation, Inc, a 501 C3 not for profit organization whose mission is to fight child abuse in the Fort Wayne community. We fund organizations that are found to best fulfill this mission.
As part of my profession, I have traveled the world lecturing on back pain and its care. Recently it was determined that I have been in over 450 cities as least one time and over 12 foreign countriesl Never would a small Ft. Wayne boy ever thought this would happen.
So as not to seem zealous, I will stop here.
