After high school, I completed my BA in Philosophy at Brandeis University, outside of Boston, and my JD at American University Law School in Washington, DC, where I lived for ten years and also worked as a government attorney at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
I have lived just north of New York City for the past ten years and practice as an in-house counsel at the National Basketball Association in NYC. I work in the field of intellectual property, including trademark and copyright law, for the NBA and its member teams.
My wife, Subin, and I met in India and got married in 1997. She also is an attorney by training, but has shifted her focus to a career in the non-profit/philanthropy sector. Subin practiced briefly at Arthur Andersen in Bombay and studied law in India, England, and New York City. She currently is at home with our two sons and volunteers at the March of Dimes.
We enjoy spending time with our kids and friends. Our son Firoz is eleven; he fences, plays baseball, and studies the saxophone. Our son Varun is eight; he enjoys music and art.
