I have been working for Digital (DEC) - Compaq - HP for the past 34 years. I moved to California in 1984, and I will never forget the cross-country drive that my Brother Joe and I made to get there. We saw many of the great sites of the United States as we headed west in my Monte Carlo. We drove all this way and saw Las Vegas as well as the Grand Canyon and many other beautiful sites, but when Joe's daughter Danielle asked him what he remembers most, he mentioned the dead cow that we saw in the Mohave Dessert, there was only a skeleton left.
I got married in San Jose in 1986, and my son Tommy was born in 1987. The marriage did not work out, and I have been going with Laurie since 2005.
I love living in the San Jose Bay Area, however I miss my family, especially during the holidays and when major life changing events take place. I’m glad to be back for the reunion, and look forward to seeing everyone.
My son Tommy is doing fantastic, as he just finished his 3rd year at San Diego State University where he is majoring in Communications. He has been working at KCR which is the SDSU radio station. He was a DJ for the first 2 years, and now he is the Producer. The first year was tough, as he was on the air from mid-night to 4am on Friday nights, and I was quite sleep deprived every Saturday, as I would sit up and listen and of course call in and get on the air. My code name when I called in was “old man Jim” from San Jose. You know it would not be cool to have your ‘dad’ calling into your local college radio gig.
