Natick- Robert W. Marsh, Jr. 37, of 496 Main St. Haverhill and formerly of Framingham and Natick, died Wednesday evening, August 1, 1984, at Hale Hospital in Haverhill, Mass of injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier that day.

Born in Natick, he was the son of Robert W. March, Sr. and Alice (Kelsey) Marsh.

He was a graduate of Framingham North High School, Class of 1966 and lived in Merrimac before moving to Haverhill two years ago.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a draftsman by the city of Haverhill.

He served in the U.S. Army as a SP 5 in the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, who live in Southboro, he leaves a son Aaron Marsh of Merrimac; two sisters, Alice L. Geier of Spring Lake, N.C., and Patricia L. Buote of Natick; his paternal grandparents. Edwin J. and Beatrice (Caldwell) Marsh, both of Belmont, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will take place from John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, on Monday at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church at 10. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visiting hours are on Saturday evening 7 to 9 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Robert W. Marsh, Jr. was born in Framingham on April 16, 1947. He was the son of Robert W. Marsh, Sr. and

Alice “Midge” Kelsey Marsh and brother of Alice L. Grier and Patricia L. Buote.

 

Robert, a member of the track team at Framingham North High School, was a member of the Class of 1966. He was known for his red hair but mostly for his easy-going and friendly manner.

 

His yearbook information states he was headed for the US. Marines, however, he was a U.S. Army Sp. 5 Veteran of the Vietnam War.

 

Sadly, Robert passed away on August 1, 1984, at the age of 37. He is interred with his parents in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick, Mass. His grave can be found on “Find A Grave”#204212248. It is adorned with his military plaque.
