That obit left out a lot of info on Gerry.   Says nothing about the Rendells that won some local awards for musicianship.   North Framingham was very Folk Music oriented, and Gerry and his brother Billy almost single-handedly introduced our age group to Urban music that couldn't be received well from the low-output radio stations in Boston that featured it.   It's a rather esoteric fact about Framingham in the Sixties.  They were among the first to discover people as Otis Redding years before he made it into Top 40.   The Rendells were the 'house band'  at the Cop Hops in the lower-level of Town Hall, and eventually the dancers would start requesting music that had been completely foreign to them just a few months earlier.   .. . . .Billy and Gerry also operated a bar in Saxonville for a time around 1980.  Someone in class must recall the name.    B553
