Special Education Resources Development Specialist
Children:
Rachel is 21 and is in her 4th year at UC, Davis. She is studying Wildlife Biology, and is pursuing More…veterinary medicine.
David is 18 and he just started college at Sierra College, our local Community College. He is studying Applied Art and Design and wants to be a digital animator.
We have been living in Roseville (suburb of Sacramento) for the past 11 years. The move from Fresno has been very good for us. My husband has been teaching at the Community College for the last 10 years. Last year he finished his Master's Degree in Biblical Studies and is teaching several adult classes at our church and has authored numerous books on doctrine and theology.
I had the opportunity to be on the board of the California Association of Special Education teachers. The networking opportunities opened the door for my current job at WestEd as a special education resources development specialist. I do some work with the State of California in working with them to support the implementation of No Child Left Behind, and do work under other contracts with schools and districts throughout the country that are in program improvement due to poor outcomes for students with disabilities. I have also co-authored and authored a few books on ADHD and currently am working on a fourth one on Response to Intervention, a new educational initiative that holds promise for students with disabilities. I haven't authored any Christian books, but am involved in the AWANA ministry at church where I have a class of about 15 K-2nd graders who show up once a week to study scripture. WE have a great time together!
I can't wait to see everyone this weekend!
