Comments:

After my marriage to Barb - a Milo girl, in 1957, I worked in the sawmill at Harris Pine Mills in Pendleton to complete 3 years at Walla Walla College, after which family responsibilities took me into the work force full time.
In 1962 I became the Plant Inspector for Rhodes Refrigeration in Portland, a job I very much enjoyed, and from there, to being a an Engineer at Holiday Park Hospital in Portland, which gave me a wide variety of technical skills and experience.
From 1965 to 1968, I drove long-haul for Harris Pine Mills in Auburn, WA.
In August of 1968, I entered the field of Audiology, enjoying a rewarding 36 year career as a Hearing Aid Specialist until my retirement in 2004, owning Hearing Aid offices in Pasco, Washington, Eugene, Oregon, and Tillamook, Oregon.
Since my wife Pat's death in 2005, I have continued to enjoy my country home here on the Oregon Coast, and keep busy as a volunteer for It Is Written's bibleinfo.com on-line ministry, responding to Bible Questions and Prayer Requests from around the world, and traveling as a guest speaker for the Oregon Conference, both richly rewarding ministries.

School Story:

Don't get me started....I would have stayed at Laurelwood my Senior year, but had gotten into so much mischief that the faculty wouldn't take me seriously when I tried to turn over a new leaf my Junior year, so transferred to Milo, where I was a Prayer Band and MV Leader, The Senior Class Chaplain, and Head Monitor in the Boys Dorm.
It's no wonder Miss Gray signed my Junior Annual at Laurelwood "To the guy with the spastic sense of humor." With my past track record, I can't blame the faculty for coming to me whenever something happened on campus.
So, while both my loyalties and many of my best friends are kids from Laurelwood, transferring to another school was one of the best decisions I ever made. But thanks for including me with the class of '56, 'cuz that's where I feel the most at home.
Several years ago, at Oregon Campmeeting, I saw Vic Fullerton, LeeRoy Holmes, and Miss Johnson standing in a circle, talking (Both of the men had their backs to me), so I slipped up behind them, and over Vic Fullerton's shoulder, said -"What are you guys talking about?" Without even looking up or turning around to see who had spoken to him, he replied without a moment's hesitation -"We're deciding what we're going to do with you!"
While I appreciate and enjoy the friendship of all three of these people today, I am especially grateful to Elder Holmes for his patience and support of me through-out what had to be trying years for him, too, as my Dean.
As for all my Laurelwood class-mates, I sincerely hope we get to spend eternity together!
