What have you been up to since 1993?
Woooow... Everything leading up to my final Something. :-) I didn't go straight to college. I worked @ Superior Manufacturing for 2 1/2 yrs after graduation and then moved to Charlotte, NC in 1996. Because of the many blessings that I gained there I'll try to paraphrase my experience. I moved to Charlotte February of 1996 & in March of 96 I started Cosmetology School @ Carolina Beauty College in which I enrolled part time so that I could work what ended up being various jobs along w/ braiding tons of hair in my home to support myself.
I managed to work in many fields all w/ @ least 1 yr of experience on the majority. I worked from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools being the longest in which lasted the duration of my stay in Charlotte to Allstate Ins Co being my last place of employment before moving home in 2006. Those two jobs out of the many (and there were many) were indeed my favorites and most fulfilling.
*I had little side jobs along the way such as Wal-Mart's Deli, A Cleaning Service for Alltel Phone Co, A Stocking Factory - Highland Mills, A Material Factory - Bollag Int., The Dollar Tree, Temp For 1st Union Bank when needed & my favority Chuck E. Cheese's (yes I was Chuck E. @ one point.. I needed extra income to secure my 1st apt & where could I go that I knew would hire me if for nothing else but weekends.. U guessed it.. was hired on the spot @ 21yrs old. :-) I luved that job! LOL)
Also starting Aug. 1996 - Jan. 2005 (had my son.. had to let something go), I worked as a Teacher's Associate in the Before/ Afterschool Program helping to enrich the lives of elementary age students..before they started their day and after school was over. Some yrs I did both but others I only worked before school so that I could further my work experience in the field of Banking. I've worked for Centura Bank (Special Accts for Commercial Businesses), BB&T Bank (Proof Operator -ten keying checks to balance debits to match one credit slip) & Wachovia Bank (Check Processor -a combo of my other 2 bank jobs). I then went onto Allstate Ins. Co (Customer Report Administrator /Claims Rep) in which was my last place of employment before returning back to Gtown in 2006.
When I returned home, I started @ Health Care Business Recources as a Special Accounts Rep that worked insurance denials for 2 hospitals in Ashville, NC. I worked there for 1 year and now work for Georgetown Hospital System (started as a temp being the Account Service Center's Administrative Assistant in the absence of their regular worker for 8 wks. I was then hired as a Clinical Secretary for the Hospital System's Next Step Pain Management locations in both the Gtown & Waccamaw. After a year, I transferred back to the Account Service Center in which I am now a full time Collector in their CATS dept (we collect on older accounts that has been settle by ins or is self pay accounts).
The jobs I mentioned have all contributed to my BIG PICTURE in one way or another. I know that w/ the experience of Education, Banking, Insurance (Customer Service) & now Medical..it will help fulfill my professional purpose along w/ my everyday life as a successful Phychiatrist. I truly believe God took me down this long route to have the experience & wisdom needed for my BIG PICTURE and all that it intails.
As for cosmetology, I went to school & finished but never got my lisence. :-( I got caught up w/ the corporate world as you all can see from the history that I listed. The opportunities in that world were there and I put my skilled opportunity on hold. :-) When I wanted to persue Cosmetology in 2007, it was too late. I was told that I have to go all over again bec my hours were no longer good so they deleted my files. It's a sad lost bec SC was willing to use the Hhrs, if it was still available but NC stated they no longer have any record of me ever going to school. No worries bec if going back to school is what it takes, I will do just that in 2010 bec it's a gift & I have to use it. Nothing will hinder me from my Big Picture not even immature choices from my past because it's never too late for success.
In 2004, while still living in Charlotte, along w/ my then fiance', we planned what would end up being my source of inspiration next to God, my son Myles Avery Wright. He is truly a blessing to me & I pray one day he will be to the world. He and my mother are my reasonings for moving back to Gtown and what God is doing w/ me now is nothing short of miraculous.
Since the yr 2000 I have been seeking, searching & finding out more about God & my True Self. I have been successful in both & is still learning & growing in both areas each & everyday. I have been blessed to reconnect w/ my old & most recent friends on FB along w/ family that I very seldomely had a chance to communicate w/. I use FB to minister, encourage, enlighten & to have all of those traits reciprocated back to me.
I enjoy spending time with & being an inspiration to my family. I have never been married nor have I settled on that one career path that I feel God has in His will for me. Nevertheless, w/ a new view on my total outcome due to life's experiences & the gaining of wisdom that will see me though my BIG picture..I plan to go back to school in January 2010 to persue my gift in Cosmetology (God gave it to me so I have to use it) & my passion in Psychology (God chose me to help others & it soothes my soul to do so). As for my husband well......To Be Continued. :-)
