Bernadette Lynn Bosky

After almost completing a Ph.D. in English at Duke, I taught at a junior college, then moved to the NYC area with my two husbands* and began freelance teaching (tutoring etc.); for years I have taught full-time at a Korean-American after-school academy. Having gone to conferences all through graduate school and begun being published in 1978 or so, I still write literary criticism for books and journals; I also write reference pieces, reviews, & rare fiction.

*It may surprise some of you that I have even one. It surprised me, actually. We three have been a triad for 20 years: weird, maybe, but it works for us.

I won the "jock strap" award at the school joke awards ceremony before graduation, an honor which I found humiliating at the time. I have never been able to figure out if it was because I was so horrible in gym or because I dressed in a masculine way & was fat. Now I feel nothing is humiliating in any of those causes, anyway.
