If anyone remembers me, they may remember that I didn't actually graduate from GHS! I love that reunion organizers over the years have invited me to each gathering -- thanks, you guys! After my family moved to the Watertown area the summer before senior year (*grrrrr*), I spent my last year of high school and graduated from General Brown. My heart and memories always lie with good old GHS!
After four years of college (SUNY Oswego: BA in Communications), I worked for two years in advertising in Los Angeles. The travel bug must have bit me then, because I moved to Washington DC to pursue plans to go overseas with the Peace Corps.
I spent 1994-1996 in the Central African Republic doing Community Health Extension work. There, I met my husband, Christian. He is French and was in-country resurfacing the rural road systems that washed out every rainy season. We moved to France and got married in September, 1996.
We lived in France for four years and both our children were born there. (They joke that I am the only American in the family!) After a lot of discussion, we decided to move to the States in late 2000 and the wind that was blowing that day sent us to Georgia (??!) At least, that's the best explanation I can come up with. LOL
I work from home for now, doing free lance technical writing for a "dot com" company, but my real passion is creative writing. I am a published short story writer, and am currently working on my first novel.
