Donna Martin Basting

Taught school at St. Marys for a year until we started our family. After living in the Pleasant Creek guard station for a year, Jim relocated his job at the Mehama Guard station. We lived there for 3 1/2 years until we moved to the Sweet Home compound. We raised our 4 children, enjoying every minute. They have all grown and married. We have 15 wonderful grandchildren. I did some substitute teaching for a few years until our children were finished with their college educations and missions. Jim retired from the Oregon Department of Forestry after 42 years of service. We then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Winnipeg Mission. We had a great experience with the friendly people of Manitoba.
