Just had time to do some reading here. Most importantly, Jeff, give my best to your mom. She has always been such a wonderful person to me whenever I was over there!!

Steph, congrats on the new addition. That's really great news.

Kevin, I plan on collecting on that BB bet in the form of some barley and hops when I come back:_

As for me, I just got selected for a Federal Narco Task Force so I'll be working undercover for the next year. I've made it plain that I plan to take off for the reunion though so I'm still planning on getting back to WI in June. Btw, some great pics Laura. I recognized a lot of people in them. Everyone looks like they're doing real well!

Steve, am I remembering correctly that Mrs. Marks directed 'Anne Frank' back at LOMBARDI? 'Oh hannukah, oh hannukah, the sweet celebration... so hear us rejoicing and merrily voicing the hannukah song that we sing [NO HOY]!'

Wasn't that her? and you? I was on crew. good grief. that was a million years ago. I can't believe she's still teaching at SW. Then again, she was young when we were there - in fact, she was Miss Schmeltzer when we started...

You mean to tell me that not everyone skipped out of choir? Or Mr Burns' Chemistry class (that was an easy one to skip out of)? Are any of our old teachers still alive or working at Southwest? Are we just that old now? YIKES!

Mike Adlebush is still there and a few other names I think I recognize but we all know what happens to the memory once we hit the high 30's! Good thing we are all posting pictures so we will be able to recognize everyone and not look ridiculous! :)

We welcomed Patricia Rae into the world on a snowy Sunday, Dec. 14th! She was 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 inches. Perfectly healthy!

Steph:

Why yes, Mrs. Mara Marks did Direct "Anne Frank" at Lombardi. Sets were build by her crafty husband Steve. He was really a good guy donating his time for free to help his wife. They also bought a lot of the supplies themselves for the show on teachers big buck salaries. As much as we mocked her, I actually earned a lot--we go to France like twice a year and I remember a lot. Granted maybe not the plus past imperfect--but enough for the French to be nice and take my money and be nice to me.

You still owe a card! I was in AZ for Christmas and didn't hear anything about your card which I know I would have.

Well, I checked with my parents and they will be in town the weekend of the reunion so I am definitely coming. I am booking like 5 days to be able to see Lynnette Bailley (Lardnois's) farm, see people Friday night and on Sunday, play some golf, go to Bay Beach all of the exciting things!

Hey Jeff -- how's your mom? Been remembering your family in my prayers. Keep us posted as you're able.

Happy New Year everyone...

Steph_ Hey I hope you had a great Christmas. My Mom is doing ok. Some of the Chemo in December was rough and landed her in the Hosptial for a few days. The last scan showed a slight reduction in the existing cancer and no new cancer. They have switched her Chemo and she is now getting treatments once every three weeks. She has a few more scans this week hopefully they will bring good news.

To all classmates,

It is with the deepest regret that I found out this morning that Jenni Hellman passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer just after Christmas and obviously it was pretty far along. Please keep her and her family in your prayers! Mark Polomis

Jeff,

My dad has been battling cancer for the last 3 years. If you ever need an ear please feel free to call me. 612-298-2074.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jenni Hellman's family started a CaringBridge site. If you want to leave a message for her family, it's a great too. www.caringbridge.org then enter jennieibenholzl without spaces. You can read her story, entries from her family and sign her guestbook.

Okay somehow, like Colleen, I just lost at least an hour reading through all of this. You guys manage to crack me up every time. I love hearing about your lives and seeing your pictures!

So sorry to hear about Jenni Hellman. It's hard to imagine, isn't it? I didn't think we were getting that old yet, but time does manage to fly....

On that note, I think it's time we all live a little! I was just reading Troy Hergenrader's profile (okay, can't believe you have a set of twins, Troy!!! God is funny, isn't He???). Troy's been busy running marathons! I think Debbie DeBoth said something about a marathon, too. WELL, a marathon has always been on my "bucket list" and I've decided, since we're not getting any younger (and it probably won't get any easier as I age), this is going to be my year to get that checked off my list. Now, mind you, I am not a runner. Somehow, though, I will evolve into one by October of this year. I'm thinking PORTLAND, OREGON on Sunday, October 4th (the last thing I would ever need to do is run 26 miles around Green Bay!). So, my question is, would anyone like to join me? You'll have to check out the marathon at www.portlandmarathon.com. The cool thing is that last year 1/4 of the participants were walkers. So, even if you'd just like to come take a walk...it would be such fun! I'm just excited to think about a little time away from the kiddos....Russ and I haven't gone any where alone since our last set was born. It's time!!! So, seriously, if you're up for an adventure, let's do it! I promise we don't have to all run at the same pace, either....I don't want to slow any of you down. Let me know what you think!

Hope all is well. Sending prayers to all of you!!!

Much love! Lynette

Go for it Lynette! But I ain't joining you. I can barely do a 5K here in Madison. My daughter and I actually wanted to get timed for the 5K we did on Thanksgiving Day...I came in 100 out of 104 runners in my age group. Walked most of it tho :) BUT, I did not come in last place! Woohoo. Good luck with it!

BTW, you gotta get on Facebook. You should see some pictures up on there...Tracy Gerlach uploaded class pictures from Kennedy Elem!! Talk about 80's looks...

Hello to everyone!

Jeff, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish your Mom comfort and peace.

I am definately not interested in running a marathon during our weekend, but how about a golf outing for those not so "runner-like"? I'd be very interested. Please email me at rstoviak@hotmail.com and let me know. I can start to make arrangements.

Love hearing about everyone's experiences in HS. Seriously, there is very little I remember, especially in the classroom. Was I sleeping? What I do remember is the "dark room" in Art class where the girls and boys were no longer allowed to go in together. I remember (names kill me so forgive me) the social studies teacher (I think) who let us watch Pretty in Pink and some other movies instead of teaching us history. It was the class that was shortened for some odd reason which made out lunch shorter too. I remember hating where my locker was and sharing with Joe Felix and anyone else who would share. I remember taking computer class where we had to input all the data to make signs and today, it takes two seconds. I remember hating our VB coach (Mr. Phleuger - sp? He taught Math at East or West) because he wanted us to exercise with Jane Fonda or Richard Simons. REALLY. He practiced with the team more than the team practiced together. And Stephanie, of course I remember you helping out EVERYONE with their solos and playing piano for every waking momment in Jr. High. SOMEHOW, I remember the cake walks at Kennedy and WINNING - a lot. That fair was so much fun. Dave Coates and I were crowned Mr. and Mrs. Harley Davidson. And the talent show - dancing with Renee McWhirter and someone else like Missy Parins. I remember recesses of kickball and dodgeball (I remember it being called murder ball) and being a part of Safety patrol. Tell me names of teachers and I'm clueless. I remember what my 2nd grade teacher looked like and I remember not being able to change classes in 4th grade while everyone else did. I still don't understand but maybe, just maybe it was because that is when my dad passed away. Who knows. All I know that all my experiences that happened whether I remember or not, made me the person I am today.

Brian, I'm not much of a drinker - anymore!!! I'm sure I'll be with you on the sober wagon. What else do you drink? There is only so much soda you can ingest.

What I really want to do is look into my school file. Hopefully that will bring back some memmories. Did you know that the district has to keep your file for 99 years after you graduate? At least that is true for Michigan. Anyone have an idea?

Best wishes on this '09 of spring.

I'll chat soon!

Hi Risa! Nice to hear that you will be sober as well. I drink mostly water (boring I know), but I am supposed to keep away from caffeine. I have become a kool-aid junkie over the years.

Hello all! Loved reading all your messages. OMG- do I remember the good old Kennedy days, some not sooo good. My oldest goes to Lombardi right now and my middle one goes to Kennedy. Funny how Ms. Braun is still a teach at Lobardi and Mrs. Giguire....I think that was her name....all that make up and skinny little bird body! I remember disliking her very much way back when! Might do the Bellin on Saturday, but would love to get a group to golf sometime after that! Take care and see you all at the reunion!

well..... now the moving company is coming June 12th to pack us, and June 15th we close on our house. Attendance at the reunion is..... not looking good. But keep my spot reserved in case I can escape the madness of moving a family of 4 kids and one nervous poodle!!!!

Steph - it sounds like the perfect time to escape to Green Bay! Certainly Scott can handle it all while you come enjoy some time with your old friends. I remember one of our moves when Sierra was 4 and Bailey was 2. I was on my own to get it done while Russ was working 20-hour days in the fields. He would just check to see which house he was supposed to sleep at each night. I survived with kids and no spouse during the move --- I'm certain Scott can do the same:) Just don't tell him it was me that said that! Hope it works!
