Bron in NC I was taken away from my birth parents due to severe child abuse. I lived in an orphanage in Charlotte until I was 11 then I was put in a group home in Greensboro where I stayed through Aycock & Page. After graduating from Page I went to UNC-Wilmington for two years transferred to Carolina, graduated & became the general manager of Spanky's Restaurant for 7 years helped open Squid's & 411 West restaurants in Chapel Hill as well.
Decided to get my Master's in Child Psychology at California-Berekely but got into recruiting & staffing & built a career there. I developed a Welfare to Work program that got an award from Al Gore in San Francisco. I moved to Seattle & became a top staffing consultant for companies like Microsoft & Amgen & Amazon.com. In January of this year I started my own company www.abcstaffing.org. I love Seattle, even the rain!
School Story:
I remember awards day our senior year. I made good grades but not great. I ran cross country & a little track but never lettered Yet, there was an award called the "Danforth - I dare you award". It was awarded to the student who did the most with the least resources. I think they recognized how hard it was for me never to have parents but turning out OK. When my name was called I just sat there & Laurie Elmore & Stephanie had to say "Bob, it's you!"
