Hi Everyone,

Wow. It's really amazing how time has flown since our class graduated. I'd moved to Texas by the time graduation came around, but enjoyed my time at Page and wonder what everyone has been up to in the meantime. Lots of talented people in our class.

After moving to Texas, I attended The Guitar Conservatory of the Southwestmto prep for music school - Berklee College of Music in Boston where I got to play with some of the most amazing musicians in the world. Then formed various jazz/rock groups which performed throughout New England, New York, Texas etc. Toured Europe/UK twice in the late 80's as well as the states.

After returning to Texas, Synergy was formed. We went on to work & record with some of the top musicians in our field including 7-time Grammy winner Paul Wertico (w/ The Pat Metheny Group), double Grammy winner Jeff Coffin (w/ Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Van Morrison, Sheryl Crow, etc), double grammy winner Bill Evans (w/ Miles Davis, Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson) and Trey Gunn (w/ King Crimson). Together, Synergy's 'Barcodes' and 'Later' releases aired on nearly 300 stations worldwide.

Currently recording our 3rd and 4th albums. The current music can be found at www.cdbaby.com/ synergy and cdbaby.com/synergy2

After renovating my home in San Antonio, I formed LightlinkLighting, which designs and builds original, Zen/lndustrial style, green-design art lighting marketed to the high-end design and architecture trades. They can be found in various museum shows, galleries, private collections, design centers, recording studios, spas and bistros throughout the US and UK. www.lightlinklighting.com / www.houzz.com/pro/guitarspeak

Other than that, involved in TEDx events, green issues, writing interviews for various Jazz & music magazines, travel, home renovation/improvement, play, write, record music, read, think, meditate...it's great to not need.

I've really been very fortunate, had the chance to travel the world, studied with incredible minds, have amazing friends, relationships, my family is all still well. I've learned a lot so far and life is great. Live in the moment. It's all we have.

Hope you are all well and look forward to hearing from anyone who'd like to catch up. I'm sure you've all got great stories. Please don't hesitate.

Thanks!

All the best,

Mike

School Story:

Played a lot of Soccer over @ Guilford College. Remember sliding around in the snow on the driving range; slammed that white Torino around a bit there. Anyone recall those snow days? All the concerts at the Coliseum...Stones, Zeppelin (dropping down from the upper balcony by belts, which broke right after I'd got down), Aerosmith (actually knew those guys in Boston), Blue Oyster, endless great shows. Dirtbiking down Willougby over to Page etc. Getting stopped by park rangers for riding in a federal park. The ha! Road trips to Kitty Hawk, Blue Ridge & Myrtle.

Hangin w/ Mike O'Tuel, Mike Grassi, Phil Blue, Brad Rice, Dale Brantley, Mike Keigel, Terry Atwell, Dave Allen and various other assorted ner'do'wells/late bloomers. Summer school w/ Paige B., Kathy High, Sue Lee. Guess we were a bit of a handful in HS.
