John Metts Anthony

After teaching for 27 years I retired and went to work for WFC selling chocolate. I moved to the beautiful Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, where I could continue my passion of sailing on bigger waters than the Ross Barnett Reservoir in Jackson, Miss.(In fact the date selected for this reunion is the same as the famous Dauphin Island regatta in which I have sailed for many years, even before moving to this area).

I am active in and sing in the choir at the beautiful antebellum Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile.

My birthday is April 11.

I have two grandchildren, Jordan and Caitlyn Smith. They and my daughter live in Tallahassee, Florida.

That's about it. Maybe I can amend this later if I think of more.

I forgot to mention the wonderful memories of the Greenville High band, and those of you who shared that etrience with me.

My chief memory is what a wonderful place Greenville was in which to grow up, and what a great education we received at Greenville High. I appreciate even more now the great artistic and literary center Greenville was at that time. I wish we could go back.

It has been a long time, but I believe I was at a Halloween party at someone's house the night Billy Cannon made his famous run I believe playing Ole Miss. If anyone remembers wher that was, refresh my memory. I also remember Hunter Bell helping(making) my science project one year. I believe for Mr. Bingham's class. It could not compete with Jay Mosows Planetarium(a big wooden box with holes drilled in it).
