School Story:
Being a transplanted Yankee from the Chicago area I was completely mesmerized with southern charm and customs. Thank you for allowing me to graduate with you all. My school up north was a little lax, and so it was educational for me to become part of a school where the students respected their teachers, and addressed them with "yes mam" and "no mam". I'll never forget the football coach who taught one of the study halls I was in. He paced back and forth in front of the class with the meanest growl I'd ever seen. He let us know real quick that he wouldn't put up with any nonsense. I found myself sitting up a little straighter in my chair and paying a good bit more attention than I'd been used to. 'Twas a wonderful expenience, and I found myself making better grades than I'd ever made before. BTW, there was this real cute girl that I met there who has stuck with me for 46 years, and, no surprise to me, has turned into a real cute grandmother.
