School Story:
In High School I was involved with JETS club, track, boy scouts, and horses. Junior year I ran high hurdles but a short legged high hurdler is at a disadvantage, I don't care how fast you are!!! Senior year I ran relays. Our mile relay team (Scrivner, Keating, Berry, Blackmon) was never beat and set several local, North Big Eight and State records. In Scouting I achieved the rank of Eagle with 2 palms. (My son Matt has also achieved the rank of Eagle). After High School I achieved OA Vigil Honor (the Scouts will know what I mean). The horse I had which meant the most to me was a tall dapple gelding quarter horse which loved to jump. We placed and won several hunter-jumper events. A buyer from Germantown, TN contacted my Dad and made him an offer he could not refuse. He bought the horse from my Dad, took him to Germantown and led fox hunts with the horse. The horse later achieved Reserve Grand Champion Hunter. I had another horse later but I went to college and my brother, Tami, traded that horse for a guitar and amplifier. So I learned to play guitar and joined a rock band and played professionally until 1967. I struggled through college my first couple of years pursueing engineering courses, however once I changed to School of Business I recoverd all lost QP's and made Dean's List, and was graduated Fall of 1969. Whew!!!
