Noma Lee Welch

I was married to Lonnie Welch from Greenwood for 36 years b/4 he and my son were killed in an auto accident in 2002. We moved to North Georgia 21 years ago from Greenwood. My children finished school here and both girls live nearby with my six grandchildren, who are the loves of my life. I have a home at the edge of the Appalachian Mtns. and you can see the foothills from my front porch. I have published my first (and last) book, Bliss & Blisters. I am completely retired now and trying to stay young. I live near my sister, Gaye, . We enjoy shopping and traveling together. Occasionally we take a girls weekend trip to Atlanta shopping or to the Fox theater for a play, and we often go to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, Tn, for the weekend. I always spend at least one sometimes two weeks a year in Daytona. I love the beach. My life is good and I stay busy just trying to be a blessing to those around me!
My mother and father and older brother Eddie are gone now, but my younger brother, David Lee, still lives in Greenville, where he is a dentist. I now have three great grands and this is the year most of us turn the BIG 70.

I didn't actually graduate with the class. My father was transferred from Greenville after my 10th grade. I did attend with the class from the second grade through the tenth. I remember going to Brownies after elemtary school. I remember trying (and I emphasize the word) to play basketball, mostly on the floor. From Solomon Jr. High I remember the awful gym outfits, the fashionable crinoline slips, and the sack dresses. Believe it or not one memory that stands out from high school is disecting a frog in science. uugh!
I did go to MDJC with a few of the classmates and I am so pleased to be included.
