Delma Joyce Woosley of Greenwood, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was 95.
Mrs. Woosley was born January 31, 1928, in Fort Smith to William David and Frances Redwine. She grew up in Ratcliff, and she attended Hendrix College and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She did graduate studies at the University of Arkansas.
She taught 7th-grade science in Greenwood for many years, and teaching and church were the loves of her life outside the home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Joy Sunday School class, state and national education associations and the South Sebastian County Historical Society. She enjoyed sewing, and through the years she provided baby blankets to women's shelters and pillows to patients and nursing home residents.
Mrs. Woosley is survived by three children: Susan (and Ray) Tackett, Sarah Trimble and David (and Vanessa) Woosley; one stepdaughter, Jane Woosley; four stepsons, Byron Woosley, Paul Woosley, Dan Woosley and John Woosley; as well as eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Joe Woosley and stepson, Ralph Woosley.

Donald Lee Rush, Jr., 57, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at a local hospital. He worked in Logistics at Spartan in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother Judy Rush, two daughters, Angel and Caroline Rush, a brother David Rush, and his mother-in-law Thelma Young.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday, October 28, 2022, at Gracelawn Cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Dana (Ryan) Rush of the home; four daughters, Holly Rush of Alma, Kerri Rush and her fiancé Zac Boyd of Alma, Katie Hinnant and her husband Chase of Utah and Autumn Rush of Van Buren; three sisters Deanna Coker of Fort Smith, Brandy Oaks and Beth Allen both of Greenwood; three brothers Michael Rush, Sr., of Fort Smith, Jeffrey Rush of Colorado and Scotty Buttler of Nevada; his father Donald Rush, Sr. and his wife Betty of Greenwood.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street in Van Buren.
