Debra C. Kaczka, age 46, of Highland, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2002, at her residence. She is survived by her beloved husband, Chester "Chet" and daughter, Jennifer, both of Highland; parents, Michael "Ed" and Mary Helen (Sporinsky) Rusnack of Whiting; sister, Nancy (Thomas) Legg of Whiting; three brothers: Michael (Jude) Rusnack of Boise, Idaho, Marc (Kimberly) Rusnack of Transfer, PA and David (Monica) Rusnack of Whiting; four nephews: Tom and Terry Legg, Jeremy and Jordan Rusnack; two nieces: Tami Legg and Kelly Rusnack; mother-in-law, Betty (late Chester) Kaczka of Michigan; brother-in-law, James, and three sisters-in-law, Theresa, Jackie and Janet, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, IN, 11:30 a.m. Liturgy at St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Joseph Pohorlak officiating. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Hessville. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas Service at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

 

Debbie was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting, and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, class of 1975. The St. Mary Rosary Society will offer prayers at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of the Calumet Area would be appreciated.
