Billy Skirvin

Mr. Billy J. Skirvin, age 58 of Lexington, Indiana, entered this life on March 16, 1965 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Clydia B. "Mouse", Jr.  and Glenna June Owen Skirvin. He resided all of his life in Jefferson County and graduated in 1984 from Southwestern High School where he participated in baseball and wrestling. He also played football for Madison Consolidated High School. He was inducted into the United States Navy and rose to the rate of Boatswain Mate. He was honorably discharged and returned home. On April 16, 1994, Billy was united in marriage to Tina D. Plessinger in Hanover, Indiana. This happy union of 29 years was blessed with a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Kendrah. Billy was an over the road truck driver and heavy equipment operator and truck driver for Sedam Contracting in Hanover. He had also been a manager at Papa John's and worked as a limo driver for Belterra Casino and Resort. For a time, he worked with his brother at Skirvin Insurance in Hanover as an insurance agent and as a phlebotomist for King's Daughters' Hospital. He attended the New Heart Church of God in Madison, Indiana. Billy had been a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. A great wheeler/dealer, he enjoyed his grandchildren, socializing with family and friends, music, fishing, and target practicing. Billy will be remembered for his devotion to his family. Billy died on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 8:40 a.m. at the Baptist Health-Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY 
Billy will be missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Tina D. Plessinger Skirvin of Lexington, Indiana; his loving son, Christopher Skirvin of Lexington, Indiana; his loving daughter, Kendrah Johnson and her husband, Jeffery of Austin, Indiana; his adoring grandsons, Ian Johnson and Levi Johnson; his loving brother, Richard Lee "Rich" Skirvin and his wife, Angela of Madison, Indiana; his aunts and uncles, Wanda Jackson, Nancy Simmons, Marilyn Owen, Melvin and Debbie Randall; his sister in law, Sheila Rudd and her husband, Gary of Hanover, Indiana; his nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Clydia B. "Mouse" Skirvin, Jr., died April 26, 1984, his mother, Glenna June Owen Skirvin, died June 24, 1994, and his brother, Royland L. "Tom" Skirvin, died March 18, 2016. 

FUNERAL CEREMONY 
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. George Severn at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Carmel Cemetery in Hanover, Indiana. 

VISITATION 
Friends may visit Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Friday, December 29, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
