Jane Finkeldey (Stephenson)

I remember Jerry for his wonderful, contagious laugh, his great sense of humor, and how he'd roll his eyes at something ironic or amusing.

I last saw Jerry in 1994, the year before he died. I was at a conference in San Francisco, and we arranged to meet at his apartment and then go out to dinner. This was the height of the AIDS epidemic, and Jerry talked about his many friends who had died and were dying. It was obvious to me that he wasn't well, but I just didn't have the guts to ask him about his own health, and he didn't bring it up either.  I regret that.
