Glenda Sue Mathis (Weehunt)

Susan Weehunt, known in school as Glenda Sue Mathis, was born December 7, 1943, and died January 3, 1995.  She had been married to local Hugo resident and former school mate--Harold Ables, before her marriage to Mr. Weehunt.

 

Obituary from Hugo Daily News, January 4, 1995:

Funeral services for Susan Weehunt of Powderly, Texas, will be held on Thursday, January 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Shoals Baptist Church south of Hugo, Oklahoma. Mrs. Weehunt died on January 3 at the age of 51.  
 

Glenda was born in Grant, Oklahoma, on December 7, 1943, the daughter of Calvin S. and Ruth J. Smith Mathis. She was manager of a doctor's office and a member of Shoals Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives include two sons:  Brett Weehunt of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tim Weehunt of Hugo; two daughters:  Angela Butler of Hugo and Kimberly Weehunt of Powderly; three brothers:  Jerry Mathis of Euless, Texas, and Danny and Stanley Mathis of Hugo; two sisters:  Jan Smith of Terrell, Texas, and Reba Mathis of Hugo; her mother Ruth Mathis of Hugo; and several grandchildren. 


The family will receive friends at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Services Thursday will be officiated by Rev. Joe Devers with burial following in Grant Cemetery, under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home.
