Aileen Roberta Decker Manley

After graduation I went to OCC, then on to Cal State, Fullerton. Received my Bachelors and Masters while teaching Elementary School.
I married H.B. Lifeguard/ teacher, Chuck Manley, who had a son, who came to live with us. Instant family! I fell in love with Special Needs students and taught them for many years in the Westminster School District. Went into Administration and ultimately became the district Administrator of Special Education for the remaining 25 years of a 35 year career. Love retirement !!!
Chuck and I enjoy living close to the beach, traveling and having time to enjoy family and friends. I am presently working partime for the Orange County Dept. of Educ. supervising Intern Special Education Teachers.

I have felt so fortunate that my folks set down roots in H.B. My years at HBHS were THE BEST and I have many wonderful friends to this day that I treasure! My memory may be a bit hazy on this, but I will never forget us gals celebrating our last day of gym class as Seniors! Someone had the bright idea of gathering all of our old gyn clothes and burning them right on the volleyball court!! Well, we did the dirty deed and of course scattered off....the next morning I was sent to the Principals office and there was Miss Kellogg crying her eyes out....holding my gym sock with "A. Decker" on the cuff, a bit charred but in tact! She thought we burned our gym clothes because we didn't like her! We felt so badly that we ended up getting her a nice plant and all went together to present it to her and apologize!!!
